OMG! Only a few more days until Chrismas!

Well, you probably got the mood for this post in the title. I can't believe that Christmas is only 6 days away! This will be a busy Christmas, first I get to go and make cookies and decorations with some people at the Fountain View Academy. Then I get to go to a Christmas party at the Bridge River Band Office. Can't wait! There are so many things that can make you smile on Christmas. What makes me smile is being with my family. (And opening presents :) Well, I got to go, hope everyone has a good Christmas!

The Christmas Train

Hey, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train came to Lytton today. It was awesome! It was a regular train, but it was covered top to bottom with lights! My Mom, Jevan and I got good spots so my Mom could take pictures. She got some pics and video's. they had a band play for us too. The band is called the Odds. Very "odd" name, don't you think? The music was VERY LOUD! but was so cool.
They were all wearing animal hats, a sock monkey hat, a kangaroo hat, a lobster hat, and a donkey hat. It was funny what they made up. They said "This is the rare and endangered sock monkey. He is going into extinction because people are using him for socks". The lobster was funny too. "The lobster flies through the skies, and goes down you chimney. If you leave the fire going, in the morning you will find a tasty cooked lobster"! Well, we had a good time. Got to get to bed. Goodbye!

Grade 7

Hey there, so I'm in grade 7, and it is hard! The class mates, the work, and the events. It's hard to keep up with. But I gotta keep up if I want to get into high school. I think I'm the nerd in my class. I am usually done my math first, when someone see's me get up, all I will hear is "Sydney! Can you help me?" or "Sydney! I don't get this question." I had the substitute teacher come up to me and say thank you for helping. It feels good to help out. But it is SO hard to get up to that stage! The hard part is the people! They are always getting you down, especially the highest grade in school. So there is a lot of distractions.

Teacher/Rockstar

My grade 3,4, and 5 teacher Mr.White is a teacher. But, he is a great singer. He told us that he had a band. I saw a video he had on his computer, but kept looking for more information. Just today I found a site that was called Antiquus. I listen to one of his songs, and he is awesome! The guitar is mazeing too. You can buy his album, and it said there will be posters. If there is, I would want one. The band looks cool too. It would be cool if the band could come in to the school and play a song for us. I am leaning to be a great guitarist with Mr.White too. I hope I can be as good as the one on the music.

Happy New year! It's 2010! I watched the countdown on TV. It was in Niagara Falls, It was cool. Oma and Opa were here to celebrate it with us too. Well, there was a little surprise too. Everyone was at the table talking, when Opa said he saw something around our cat, Billy. No one saw anything, so he lifted up a blanket on the floor, and there on the floor was just a little baby mouse. My mom was on a wheelie chair and rolled back, Oma ran away, and the guys did nothing. The cat was looking for it, and the mouse ran under a dresser. The cat was looking for him, and my mom got the broom. It looked like he was gone, but I got the flashlight and saw him. Everyones feet got off the floor. I couldn't reach him with the broom. So my mom moved the dresser to get him out, but instead of getting him out. he got squished! I put him outside, but the cat still stayed by the dresser, waiting for the mouse. It was very fun.

Languages

Well over the last few days, I have been studying Spanish, and have learned some Spanish words, the simple stuff like, good morning is buenos dias, and, my name is Sydney, mi nombre es Sydney. I wish I could go to Mexico, it would be so cool! Next to Scotland, and New York. I wish there was more I could learn, I wrote down all the spanish words I could find on the internet. Well I guess I will have to look some more. I don't only know spanish, I also know sign language, and native language. I love learning new languages!

Macbeth week. And exciting news!

Over the last few days, Div.3 and 4 have been doing Macbeth for 2 schools, the community, and our parents! When I sang my song, people were clapping hard! It was cool:) Tomorrow we will put on our last Macbeth play until September! The reason we will be doing the Macbeth play in September is because div.3 and 4 are going on tour! And the reason we get to go on tour......is because Mr.White got the job as a teacher in the school!!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be sooooooo cool!Mr.White's boss was at a play and said we(and Mr.White) did an awesome play! I am so happy. I hope Ms.Peeters gets a job at L.E.S too. She is just as good! And I think Mr.White likes her!

my Comics

I have started to draw my own comic strips. My comic is about a little round monster(I still have to make up a name for him), that eats anything and everything. In my next post, I will show my comics to everyone. He was first created in an ice cream factory. The people were trying a new flavor, but things got out of hand and the ice cream sample turned into the monster. My teacher thinks it is really funny. I can't wait to show everyonemy comic!

Next Year

There are only a few more weeks left until summer vacation! Also we will be preforming the play Macbeth in a few weeks. I have all of my lines memorised too. I am getting excited about next year because Mr. White and Ms.Peters might get a job at the school! But it will be very strange next year because the classes will have two teachers working in one classroom, so a teacher will teach in the morning, and the other teacher will teach in the afternoon. But the most strangest thing about next year is that there will be a camera in the classroom. The class will be learning with other schools in the school district. It will be alittle wierd, but if Mr.White gets the job, I'll be happy!

Goodbye Mr.White and Mrs.Peters

I just found out yesterday that my teacher, Mr.White, has been laid off! Also Mrs.Peters is being laid off! The best teachers are being fired. I found out that the people judge the teachers on how long they teach, not on what they teach! So next year I will not have Mr.White as my teacher, unless a miracle happens. My class is hopping we won't get a mean teacher. Mr.White, when he was a kid, he had a teacher that yelled at one mistake! I think this is happening because of the grade 7's are coming back to Elementary School. I will miss Mr.White and Mrs.Peters:(

Easter day

Today was Easter! I love Easter. I got a chocolate chicken, and Jevan got a chocolate car. When we went egg hunting, Jevan found the eggs first. But I still found some. He is becoming a great egg hunter.
Later that day I went outside and saw that my dad cut the branches on the willow trees! So I could not climb the trees, (but the good thing is that Jevan will not stuck in the willows),I could only use a ladder to clime trees. I was really sad, but then my dad made a swing! So it made up for the trees.

Science fair

Well, I didn't win, but I had fun! I even got to go to Cache Creek, and show my science project to the Lilooet, Ashcroft, and Cache Creek schools! So four schools got to show their science project to everyone. Also, the Cache Creek school is painted everywhere!!! Even the bathrooms are coloured! So I had a lot of fun. I can't wait till next year!

Science Fair

Science fair is in two months, and since I am in grade 5, I have to do a science project by myself. It was a little hard, but after a week, it was all good. My science project is going to be about allergies. I have already found out that kids get allergies more than adults. If I do really good, I might even beet Edward. He has won the science fair for a while now. I hope I can do it!

Well, me and my brother have only a few more days until we have to go back to school. But we might get an extra day off because of the snow, but it's just a thought. Has anyone ever felt like school is a prison, with all the rules and stuff? That's what it feels like at my school, but we do get some fun stuff occasionally.

The Christmas Orange

Today was my Christmas play, it's called "the Christmas Orange". It was great! But my suit was really sweaty. When I had the microphone, I thought it would slip through my hands! But I made it. If you read the post my mom did about the freezing weather, she's right! It is very very very cold. I like it a little bit. Because 1. the bugs aren't bugging you 2. if your lucky, school will be out 3. you get to sit in front of the warm fire wood stove 4. you get hot chocolate!

The play Macbeth

Do you know about Shakespeare? Well, remember the blog post my mom did about the play my class did about the Tempest? This year we are doing a play called Macbeth. That's another play Shakespeare did. And I'm Lady Macduff! I will also be singing "Thorn in my Side", my favourite part in the song is the part "to run away from you, was all that I could do".

The Design

This is some more art I have been doing for a while. It's really easy to do. All you need is a pen or a pencil, and make a sort of curled point and keep on making points and waves. I got another different coloured pen and sort of out lined it. My mom thinks I would be a good tattoo artist.

Roman day for Div.3

Today we had a little fun celebration in our class. In our class, we have been learning about Romans, like Cicero, Pytheas and other people, but their names are hard to spell. Anyway, we are going to learn about the mid evil times (also called the dark ages, I think), so we said goodbye to Rome by having a roman party, we all got to dress up as Romans, and eat roman food, do roman math and things like that. But only our class did it. Here is a little picture I made of some Romans. Fact: girl Romans never wore togas, only guys wore togas. I also got second place for best roman costume! So we had some fun today.

Sparklers

This is no fancy trick. You know what sparklers are? (Sparklers are steel sticks that you light, and they almost look like fireworks, but you can hold it). Last night Dally and Duane brought fireworks over, and sparklers came with it! So me and Jevan took one and played around with it. Then Mama said why don't you try and write your name? Of course, I did one letter at a time. It took a long time to do it, but I did it!

Student News!

This is the Lytton Elementrey school's own Student Newspaper! Our teacher Mr.White had the idea to make a newspaper for the school. So me, Monica, Robyn, and Kayla, when we are ahead of the other kids in our work, we can go out of the room and work on our paper. In this one we talked about Guitar Lessons, the Halloween count down, and Save the Environment . It was a lot of hard work, but we did it!

BOO! Are you excited about Halloween? I sure am! I drew a picture for Halloween too. It's sort of like the loonie picture, but you use a loonie(a 1 dollar coin made in Canada) and a dime(10 cents coin made in Canada). My cousin thought the eyes looked creepy. You should try to draw something for Halloween too.
